Shows are daily at 9 pm central time

Conscious Living with Wendy Garrett is produced by Empower Radio and featured on empoweradio, iheart, itunes, stitcher and various independent youtube channels. Programs cover a wide range of Mind-Body-Spirit/Alternative Awareness/PSI topics, including: Consciousness, UFO, Metaphysics, Paranormal and Energy Medicine.

Ongoing personal experiences with extraordinary and unexplained seen/unseen phenomena underscore my belief in a world abundant with wonders we haven't yet begun to fathom.

Experiencers, via their unique encounters, give us glimpses and clues to what potentials creation has yet to reveal when we are willing to listen to the call of the muse and curious enough to table our fear and explore the unknown inner and outer limits of being.

And the answers are there, teasing us in quirks, quarks and fantastic anomalies.

My proof
- and that is the whole point of this reality thing being very personal and unique to the individual experiencer - the light beside me goes off for a moment and then comes on again as I am composing this introduction, underscoring the "quirk" factor and the representation of the ever-present, unseen support in this adventure.

Thank you for your interest and for listening. I hope you enjoy the shows! - wendy ... and the nightlights ;)

Cooking the Books ...

If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.” -
Oscar Wilde

There is something to be said for possessing a book. They're like old friends and always there when you need them.

Prospero's books made national/international headlines for burning books over the weekend. (Hindu.com) Eventually stopped because they didn't have a permit. Wish I had known...there were a few I might have tried to rescue. I just picked up several classics at BN. As a Man Thinketh, The Essential Wooden and a few others (cooking stuff). I have a few more to go back for. Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird is one.

The owner says he did it to protest the sorry state of book readers...I think he focused on bad stats. Rather than donating to a library or anything remotely close...up in flames they went with a few bystanders grabbing handfuls to buy before they were ignited. He says he has some leftovers. So there may be a chance of rummaging through those as well.

The non-reading stats he chose were gloomy. Other stats show we like to read more than we like to watch television....and the on-line book community may be a slow grow.... but it's growing. According to a Harris Interactive Poll, reading ranks above TV as the top leisure activity. Got to find a book somewhere to do that. Stats can be fickle depending on what questions are asked, what questions are omitted and if you have a bookstore that can't sell books.

Then again, burn a few shelf sitters, get international press and a waiting line for the next roast. That's gonzo advertising.
