Conscious Living with Wendy Garrett is produced by Empower Radio and featured on empoweradio, iheart, itunes, stitcher and various independent youtube channels. Programs cover a wide range of Mind-Body-Spirit/Alternative Awareness/PSI topics, including: Consciousness, UFO, Metaphysics, Paranormal and Energy Medicine.

Ongoing personal experiences with extraordinary and unexplained seen/unseen phenomena underscore my belief in a world abundant with wonders we haven't yet begun to fathom.

Experiencers, via their unique encounters, give us glimpses and clues to what potentials creation has yet to reveal when we are willing to listen to the call of the muse and curious enough to table our fear and explore the unknown inner and outer limits of being.

And the answers are there, teasing us in quirks, quarks and fantastic anomalies.

My proof
- and that is the whole point of this reality thing being very personal and unique to the individual experiencer - the light beside me goes off for a moment and then comes on again as I am composing this introduction, underscoring the "quirk" factor and the representation of the ever-present, unseen support in this adventure.

Thank you for your interest and for listening. I hope you enjoy the shows! - wendy ... and the nightlights ;)

So, What Exactly Do Relatives Say When They Pass On?

I am like a falling star who has finally found her place next to another in a lovely constellation, where we will sparkle in the heavens forever. Amy Tan

In answer to the opening title, I cannot speak for anyone other than myself and what I hear with my relatives. In the past 60 days, my Father and a Great Uncle transited to Spirit and they each shared with me a different experience; but the one I will share now is the most vivid on many levels because I was physically involved in part of the process.

My Grandfather exited in November. None leave without saying Goodbye...or actually, Hello in a different form. Here is the diary entry for my Grandfather's transition. I now have had this death encounter many times; and even when the emotions are in upheaval, there is always a joy and wonder in the process. It was physically harder with my Grandmother because we were closer. The chords were solid and I felt tremendous hurt, sorrow, and emotional pain in my body until she let me know she was there...and lifted it. The sorrow dissolved.

Grandpa’s funeral. I can hear him and he says he has not gone anywhere. He is standing right there beside me as I look at him in the casket. He looks so peaceful - and young. He wants to know that I can hear him. I tell him I can.

He shows me his faith - pictures flash and images I cannot interpret - but I sense how connected he was to his life. He built his faith and belief into a rock solid reality. Wow! That is what we can do. It isn’t what we can build materially in the physical…it is how we build our thoughts that creates our reality!! Awesome. That is what he wants me to know. There are no words to explain this event. It is like he imprinted the information on me.

Grandpa built himself a safety net that kept him going no matter what. He tells me he is free now and can be in more than one place at one time. He is wherever he needs to be and anyone who is open can hear him. Most cannot. But he can make himself known in thought and prayers when needed. It is very different than what we are taught.

Somehow he knew and remembered – even when his body kicked him out - what he was doing and always came back to finish the job. I tell my friend they always show up for their funeral, and as I do, Grandpa says he hasn’t missed one yet… That, to me, speaks directly to reincarnation. It is funny and -at same the time - it makes me think.

They play a song that is so perfect for Grandpa – about a train ride to Heaven. One of the significant events of my Grandfather's life involved he and his brother hopping a slow moving train to ride up the long Ozark hill...missing the jumping off end up in Springfield where Great Grandfather had to go fetch them for a --long --- ride back home. (He offered no details on the return ride. Imagination filled in the blanks.)

The minister notes that he died on All Saint's Day…

Whenever I could hear him, in my mind he would say, "I was a good soldier." He was here to protect and serve. And that he did ... marching forward as others in front, beside, and behind him dropped unceremoniously to the earth during the Battle of the Bulge. He took pains to carry personal messages to their next of kin. The war changed him but he marched on.

A Scout leader, he taught many a boy the art of tying knots. However, one most important life lesson may have been inadvertent. Apparently, a few kids, at one time or another, managed to fall off the horse; for various reasons, as he dutifully escorted them for pony rides.

Mom says she learned to always hold your own reins. Grandpa definitely had a firm grip on his.

I know he isn't gone so I am glad I don't have to miss him. But I will miss the stories he told and the thought of having him around. He was larger than life in my mind and in his physical presence. It is comforting and reassuring to know -- where ever he is and goes in spirit, in my mind, he is vividly alive, answering the call to serve, telling stories, and living out loud. He is where I come from, in every sense of the word.

More on the After Life.
