The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins? Edgar Allan Poe
Ghosts are not the entertainment source they are cracked up to be. While it may be fun for some to visit their hangouts...it is no fun to live with 24/7. They are an energetic presence and can create a physical drain and emotional discomfort in those who are sensitive. The presence is felt in others but they feel less ill at ease. (Thus, they don't believe in the stuff.)
Ghosts can also become attached to their people and intentionally create a bit of excitement when they disapprove of what is going on here in the manifest plane. Nothing like a spirit with an opinion - trying to make a point. Where there is a will...they can create a way.
Hauntings are the result of spirit attachment to a specific space and beyond that -- to a specific person. We usually go into their space without knowing and cause them to readjust. That triggers activities that attract our attention. If we cause too much of a readjustment, they return the favor and force us to readjust as well.
Can you banish a Ghost? Only if and when they want to leave. More often than not, some are supposed to be exactly where they are. So - if you aren't too much of an inconvenience and leave them be...they do you the honor of leaving you be.
They don't leave, as in go. They just step back -- retreat -- lay low -- until the next one comes along who needs a reminder or an eye opener that life goes on in a different form and we can be taught - even through unconventional methods - to respect and value our surroundings as we learn to share our space with all residing therein.
Life essence is not restricted to a physical vessel. While it may be tempting to get involved in their world, it serves a greater purpose to respect it. When it comes to the big picture, ghosts are where they are to work on their stuff while we go about working on ours....
Then there are the jokers who can't help themselves and create their own ghosts. : ) I prefer a hang out that offers the potential of running into the ghost of a famous artist. (I have not heard that this place is haunted but the energy of the area speaks to me.) Who knows, one might learn how to paint.
