Ongoing personal experiences with extraordinary and unexplained seen/unseen phenomena underscore my belief in a world abundant with wonders we haven't yet begun to fathom.

Experiencers, via their unique encounters, give us glimpses and clues to what potentials creation has yet to reveal when we are willing to listen to the call of the muse and curious enough to table our fear and explore the unknown inner and outer limits of being.

And the answers are there, teasing us in quirks, quarks and fantastic anomalies.

My proof
- and that is the whole point of this reality thing being very personal and unique to the individual experiencer - the light beside me goes off for a moment and then comes on again as I am composing this introduction, underscoring the "quirk" factor and the representation of the ever-present, unseen support in this adventure.

Thank you for your interest and for listening. I hope you enjoy the shows! - wendy ... and the nightlights ;)

Into the Wild - Answering the Call of the Soul

Let children walk with Nature,
let them see the beautiful blendings and communions
of death and life,
their joyous inseparable unity,
as taught in woods and meadows,
plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star,
and they will learn that death is stingless indeed,
and as beautiful as life. - John Muir

- A movie to consider.

When I first read the book - Into the Wild (prior to interviewing the author when it came out) - it caught me. This could not have been an easy story to tell. The ending is a given. How to fill in the blanks? The result is a beautiful tribute to an idealistic, independent, non-conformist - and naive, young seeker.

Do we understand him? Maybe. Maybe not. But we might understand the desire to seek a higher ground.

A fan of writer Jon Krakauer (Into thin Air), this book presented a character (based on a true story) who could be a fool, a genius, or both. Following along as a reader, the resulting experience was transcendent. I am glad to see Sean Penn has taken it to the next level and transformed it into a film.

The story is about meeting life on your matter far out or whacky it may seem to all those catatonic armchair quarterbacks. I do not like sad endings. However, this to me is anything but. It is about answering the call of the wild...and beyond that, the call of the soul. Sometimes the endpoint is beyond what we can see.

This film - I will see.
