"When you get to my age, you'll measure your success in life by how many of the people you want to have love you actually do love you. That's the ultimate test of how you've lived your life." - Warren Buffet
Dollars and Sense. Whatever the race - when focused solely on the physical result as demonstration of success - an entire realm of existence/being is omitted. After the adrenaline wears off and there is no companion to share it with, there is a void accolades, applause and trophies cannot fill.
We are taught to pursue, value and put stock in tangibles when it is connecting with the illusive intangible that can make all the difference in the world: For better and for worse.
The biggest delight of my life was finding the intangible can reveal itself in a nightlight. We are not, have not, nor will we ever be alone; and we have no clue how big "intangible" really is. Rather than overwhelming, I find that to be a motivator that infuses life with light.
When that metaphysical component (intangible) is engaged in life, even the (seemingly) dark elements glow.
* The orb in the photo above appeared with the Winnie the Pooh pillow, an estate sale purchase. The former owner of the pillow paused for a cameo in my photo while en route to the next stop.
*Saying on the pillow: "Never underestimate the power of a hug."
*And the couch came from Nebraska Furniture Mart.
