|These are some of the works on display at an area business. It's like sending one of my pets|
off to visit a relative. Why is is so hard to let them go?
Most creative work
is a process of people passing ideas and inspirations
from the past into the future
and adding their own creativity along the way. - Joichi Ito
My art is my heart. It has taken years to get to the point where I just allow the process to take over and tell me what to do rather than try to steer the outcome. Finally seeing the wisdom in that self-expression, I have learned there is no directing creativity. It simply has to be given an outlet to be allowed. Then it flows. The outcome will show you the form.
It's nice to be along for the ride on this art adventure and so much less stressful than trying to accomplish something, anything, just to prove I am actually busy.
Out with the tried. So many words, pictures, thoughts, ideas collided to create projects that didn't express my heart. Even more frustrating, more often than not, the product of that inspiration simply dissolved and went "poof" ... into the ether. So, for a very long time that busy stuff had no visible output and annoyed me to no end because, no matter what it looked like, it was very time-consuming. ;)
In with the true. After I got over the need to be annoyed and on a time clock, it (the frustration) ended and the creative process unfolded to produce a result: color found form!
I am as I am... creating in the moment, particles, waves and ribbons .. life, light and joy. This is what it looks like from my perspective. That's how I flow.
