What if your job was to be the keeper for all that is -- all that is -- here on this planet. How could you do that? Would anyone allow you to stand your ground and hold solid to that which you had been called to do for the good of the greater? -- In this time, we are witnessing such an event and time will tell how that story will factor into our own. The Kogi consider themselves to be sacred guardians and live in such a manner that they hold their actions in account for the health of our world.
Intensely reclusive and reluctant to make contact with outsiders, they have chosen to connect to share a dire warning to any who will listen - in hope that we might change our actions before the results of what they are now seeing in their world become irreversible.
An Important Message from our Elder Brothers-
- an excerpt: [All things, they believe, exist in the mind of the Creator before they finally become manifest. Spirit permeates every thing. That binding thread of spirit, called aluna, is central to the Kogi philosophy. An enlightened teacher, Mama Valencia, explains:
Everything we do is an event not only in the physical world but also in the spirit world. We live in a world shaped in spirit. Every tree, every stone, every river, has a spirit form, invisible to the Younger Brother. This is the world of aluna, the world of thought and spirit. Aluna embraces intelligence, soul and fertility: it is the stuff of life, the essence of reality. The material world is underpinned, shaped, given life and generative power in aluna, and the Mama's work is carried out in aluna. -- p. 63]
The film reveals why - at this time - the Kogi are moved to make contact with outsiders. They have a compelling catalyst. Theirs is not the only culture calling for a dramatic change in lifestyle and environmental practices by modern society. Their hope is that someone will care enough about the future to invest in a more consciously aware and ecologically proactive present.
We are the ones we have been waiting for. The wildcard in all of this, from my own connections with those in spirit and non-physical form - there is a higher level of being interacting with us to help us through this process.
No matter how it appears from our limited vantage point, something far greater than we can imagine is at stake. Our history will be determined by our response -- but we are not alone. There is another history playing out. The Kogi and other cultures with ties to ancient ancestors are in touch with that. They are doing their best to remind us the time is now - to clean up our act.
