Gratitude and Delight... Magic in a blink

Wonder has no set rules to follow and no age-limits. It can present itself in any form, shape and/or size, at any place, in any time. - Talking to Nightlights

It's the little things ... the subtle, blink-and-you-miss-it stuff that make life so fascinating. So much is happening that the little stuff, the quiet stuff, the outside-the-routine-in-the-daily-grind stuff, often goes unnoticed and under appreciated simply because of the overwhelm of the moment, the cacophony of sound, sight, motion, external chaos and internal flotsam screaming to hold center court.

No doubt, intentional, that extreme diversion throwing up dust. And all is well. Fortunately, magic cuts through smoke and clears the dust. Magic cuts through flotsam.

Traveled to see Mom. Day after Thanksgiving gathering, including my brother Russ (and Tracy)
and a few young nieces and a nephew. Small group. Diversion included fantastic 70 degree weather, a trampoline and a tiny tot, new to the rituals of the season, demonstrating her arsenal of scene stealing hi-jinks.

Andy said he noticed it when he set the food down on the cabinet as we first arrived, from the corner of his eye, the lamp, blinking. Almost imperceptible but steady. He noted it and said nothing.

Dinner finished, gathering dishes and clearing the table, he directs my vision to the lamp because the activity is now increasing. The two younger girls are playing just a few feet away without noticing. One person is napping on the floor and the tiny tot is in her princess corral.

The lamp, intensity building in the blinks, has become much more overt. Deliberate. Off. On. And flickering in between, like my nightlights.

I motion to Mom in the kitchen and call down to my brother in the basement to let him know the light is now putting on a show. He hurries up the stairs to watch as the light, having amped up the performance, makes it quite clear this is an intentional endeavor.

Mom nods. Called to witness, adults gathered, we laugh and smile. Completely unaware, the children continue to play.

Gradually, after having been acknowledged, the blinking activity resumes an intermittent status until the light is doused so the tiny tot can go to sleep along with the magic in our midst.

For twenty years, that small wonder has demonstrated it's presence and become so much a part of my routine that I am now guilty of overlooking it. And to that end, I am so grateful to have Andy in my life. He notices details and catches nuances I would naturally miss or have become acclimated to.

I love the engagement when that small wonder chooses to put on a show and am forever amazed at the constant reaffirmation of others (physical and non) in our presence.

Giving thanks now and every day for gifts of delight; small wonders and loving presence in knowing it isn't a me thing, it's a we thing.

With love and light to all those who have walked and are walking this extraordinary path. You are appreciated beyond anything I can express. Thank you.

Shows are daily at 9 pm central time

Conscious Living with Wendy Garrett is produced by Empower Radio and featured on empoweradio, iheart, itunes, stitcher and various independent youtube channels. Programs cover a wide range of Mind-Body-Spirit/Alternative Awareness/PSI topics, including: Consciousness, UFO, Metaphysics, Paranormal and Energy Medicine.

Ongoing personal experiences with extraordinary and unexplained seen/unseen phenomena underscore my belief in a world abundant with wonders we haven't yet begun to fathom.

Experiencers, via their unique encounters, give us glimpses and clues to what potentials creation has yet to reveal when we are willing to listen to the call of the muse and curious enough to table our fear and explore the unknown inner and outer limits of being.

And the answers are there, teasing us in quirks, quarks and fantastic anomalies.

My proof
- and that is the whole point of this reality thing being very personal and unique to the individual experiencer - the light beside me goes off for a moment and then comes on again as I am composing this introduction, underscoring the "quirk" factor and the representation of the ever-present, unseen support in this adventure.

Thank you for your interest and for listening. I hope you enjoy the shows! - wendy ... and the nightlights ;)
